There’s a star up in the sky
It’s been shining there for you
And how it burns so bright, for a tiny soul so new
As I look into your face, I see your father’s eyes
And my smile, and I’ve never felt such love before

And I know that little ones to Him belong
But while we’re on this Earth, He gave me this child
My heart, my soul, and Jesus loves me, this I know

There’s another star that shines
It belongs to your little brother
Yet another precious child, yet another little lover
He’s running, jumping, laughing
And growing up so tall before my eyes
And I’ve never felt such joy before

And I know that little ones to Him belong
But while we’re on this Earth, He gave me these souls
To warm my heart, and Jesus loves me, this I know

If the Bible hadn’t told me so, I’d know it just the same
As sure as stars shine in the sky
His love shines all around

I watch them as they play, angels on the Earth
Close beside me every day, ‘til they want to see the world
And I know the day is coming, they’ll go their own way
But through my tears I’ll smile ‘cause they’ll always have Your love inside

And they'll know that everyone to him belongs
And know I lay them down to sleep
I sing and they softly echo
